Mrs. Bertha Lee Lamar, 78, of Florence, passed away Thursday November 15, 2012, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Sunday November 18, at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jon Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers with Randal White, Kenneth Barnett and Mark Guthrie acting as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Lamar was born in Lauderdale Co. and attended the Pentecostal church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Albert Burns and Elizabeth Hipps Burns; daughter, Lana Lamar; brother, James Allen Burns; and daughter-in-law, Louise Lamar. Surviving are her husband, Dalton Lamar; children, James “J.D.” Lamar, (Janice), Charles “Chuck” Lamar, (Kay), Janice Lamar, Judy Graham, (Dan), and Lisa Mayes, (Jon); grandchildren, Angie, Amanda, Charlie, Jerry, Susie, Ricky, Sherry, Jonathan, Jordan, Bradley, Chelsea and Leann; 14 great grandchildren.
