Funeral for Mrs. Bertha Jean Morris Jackson, 59, of Hillsboro will be Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Oakville Christian Faith Center with Bishop Gary Taylor officiating and interment to follow in Lindsey Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral service. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Bertha Jean was born in Danville on November 2, 1953, to the late Cluster and Annie Griffin Morris. She departed this life on May 7, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Parkway Campus. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lilly Adkins and Lola Hendrix; one brother, Luster Morris; and brother-in-law, Billy Ray Jackson.
Bertha confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Oakville Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Oakville Christian Faith Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Henry Jackson; five sons, Melvin (Tonya), Marcus, William and Justin Jackson and Reginald Clay, all of Hillsboro; two daughters, Millie and Stephanie Jackson, both of Hillsboro; six sisters, Stella Mason, Ann Waddle of Decatur, Betty Mason, Janice Willard, Linda Young, Viola (Jerry) Prince, all of Moulton; four brothers, Jim, Don and Timothy Hullett, all of Danville, and Curtis Morris of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Hendrix of Shannon, Miss., Andrew Jackson of Hillsboro and Marvin Wade of Decatur; six sisters-in-law, Charlsy Jackson, Joyce Russell, Katherine Hampton, Willie Marie Johnson, all of Decatur, Brenda Jackson, Emmie Sue Jackson, all of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Jasonna Anderson and Naja Anderson of Cleveland, Tenn.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
