It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Bert Bankston, a loving husband and devoted father, who left world on September 30, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the young age of 45. Born on August 18, 1979, in Jackson, Tennessee, Bert lived life passionately and fully, touching the lives of many with his warm spirit and adventurous heart.
Bert worked as a tool and die maker. He possessed an invigorating personality, living life to the fullest. If you were once ever Bert’s friend, you were his friend for life.
Bert had an unmistakable zest for life and adventure. Whether it was boating on a warm summer day, fishing in quiet waters, hunting in the fall, or trail riding through the breathtaking landscapes, he reveled in the outdoors and made countless memories under the open sky. His fun-loving and adventurous side brought joy to those around him and inspired countless outdoor excursions with family and friends.
Above everything, his proudest accomplishment was having his beautiful daughter, Farrar Grace, who was the light of his life and the reason for his smile. Bert’s love for Farrar Grace was boundless, and he cherished every moment shared with his little girl. He also leaves behind his amazing and devoted wife, Candace. Their love story was filled with laughter, adventure, and companionship—an indelible bond that was the cornerstone of their family. Together, they navigated life’s ups and downs, building a full and harmonious life alongside cherished memories.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Candace Farrar Bankston; daughter, Farrar Grace Bankston; mother, Carol Ann Humphrey Bankston; sister, Stephanie Reeves (Mark); and his in-laws, Steve and Jeanie Farrar. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Bankston.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers to serve include: Clayton Adkins, Kevin Bankston, Payton Bankston, Billy Byrum, Charlie Estes, and Mark Reeves.
Bert was a wonderful husband and father; and he was also a friend to many who enjoyed his laughter and kind-hearted nature. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him for the profound impact he had on their lives and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
