Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Veatrice Hurst Miller, age 100 of Shinbone, will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Union D Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her son Robert Wayne Dingler (Brenda) of Heflin; four daughters: Veatrice Pitts of Ashland, Linda Dingler Strickland of Shinbone, Brenda Rutherford of Shinbone, and Martha D. Alderson of Ashland; 18 grandchildren,36 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Burt (Marshall) of Shinbone and Gladys Conner of Delta; two brothers, James Ray Hurst (Joan) of Shinbone and Jerry Wendell Hurst (Diane) of Shinbone; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Hurst and Lydia Sasnett; her sons, Jay Dingler, Huel Strickland, James Owens, L.O. Miller; a daughter Geneva Hollis; one grandson, Leslie Wayne Cavender; two great grandchildren, Brody Holyfield and Jeremiah Holyfield; one great-great- grandchild Lillian Bryant; four sisters, Margie Dingler, Ethel Bell, Hilda May Morrow, and Victoria Land; and one brother Harce Hurst.
Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Union D Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
