Bernice Nunnelley Cook

Mrs. Cook passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016. She was born on January 30, 1941 in Morgan County of the Ryan Community to Homer Jackson Nunnelley and Icel Copeland Nunnelley. She was formerly employed by Monsanto and retired from Delphi/Saginaw Steering Gear in 2002. She is preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Harold Doyce Cook, and her two sons, Larry and James. Mrs. Cook enjoyed decorating her yard on Cleveland Avenue for many holidays. Christmas was her favorite as hundreds of people drove by during the holidays to enjoy her never ending Christmas decor. She loved providing this scene for the community. Survivors include her daughter, Joan and son-in-law David, two grandchildren, Jacob and Autumn and her sister, Mildred N. Crabtree.
Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home, 711 Memorial Drive SW, Decatur, Alabama will handle arrangements. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Ryan Baptist Church Cemetery, 11136 Hwy 67 South, Joppa, Alabama, with Pastor Bill Weems officiating.
