A private family graveside service was held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Berniadene’s love for God, her family, and her home was immeasurable. Her proudest role was as a loving mother. She nurtured her children’s passions, celebrated their achievements, comforted them in difficult times, and guided them with compassion, wisdom, and patience. Her unconditional love, unwavering support, and presence in their lives were a constant source of strength, encouragement, and happiness.

A devoted homemaker, Berniadene cherished every aspect of family life. She delighted in creating a warm home filled with love, home-cooked meals, and festive holiday celebrations. She and her family spent time camping, making memories at Myrtle Beach, enjoying county and state fairs, and attending family reunions, where they helped organize games for children and served on the reunion boards.

Berniadene found comfort and joy in nature. She loved gardening, flowers, butterflies, and feeding birds — especially hummingbirds. She shared these passions with both her mother and daughter. She also shared her life with many cherished dogs over the years, including a very special beagle named Fargo, who loved her as much as she loved him. Her generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness were unmatched.

A gifted pianist, Berniadene grew up playing the piano in church and enjoyed music with her husband, who plays the banjo. They shared a passion for country, bluegrass, and gospel music, a love that led them to Nashville, where they made lifelong friends in the music community.

Berniadene is survived by her husband, Vaughn “Von” Lee Moye; daughter, Jenny Lynn Moye; son, Jason Lee Moye; mother, Jean Brunty Myers; father, Bernie L. King; and brother, Wonnie L. Short.
