Bernese “Bee” Butler was born September 4, 1926 in Chewalla, TN, the daughter of the late Ambus Calvin Reed and Ellen Lorane Leatherwood Reed. She departed this life on April 11, 2024 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 97 Years, 7 Months, 7 Days.
She was united in marriage to Robert Butler on January 5, 1952. Mr. Butler preceded her in death on April 20, 1981.
Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and helped on many occasions take care of family members that needed someone. She had a passion for quilting, gardening and flowers. She had attended Butler’s Chapel and Chewalla Baptist Church over the years. She loved her family.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her siblings: Eugene Reed, Jewell Carper, Malcom Reed, Drewsyler York, Izola Foust, Vernon Reed, Clara Reece Reed, Audie Ellis Reed.
