Bernard Eugene “Gene” Ferguson

Bernard Bernard Eugene “Gene” Ferguson, age 92, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Monday, September 11, 2023, at his residence.

Gene was born May 30, 1931, in Washington, D.C. to the late James and Anna Leonberger Ferguson. He was a National Promotion Manager for CBS Records working with some of the top names in the music business in the 70’s and 80’s. Some of the artists he managed included his close friend, Johnny Cash, as well as Hank Williams, Jr., Roy Clark, John Anderson, George Jones, Roger Miller, the Statler Brothers, Glenn Sutton, Tanya Tucker, Glen Campbell, and Ray Stevens just to name a few. He was well-known and respected in the music industry by all who knew and worked with him. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music, hunting, woodworking, and photography.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Dunavant Ferguson, his grandson Noah Kiswiney, and his brother James Ferguson.

He is survived by two sons, Forrest (Gail) Ferguson and Todd (Merry) Ferguson both of Lewisburg; one daughter, Desiree (Todd) Schwalbe of Venice, FL; three grandchildren, Noel Kiswiney, Hunter Ferguson, and Heidi Ferguson.
