Berdie Mae Thornton 79, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, in her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 27th, 1944, to parents Cleveland H. Kelley and Gretta Odell Craig.
Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Joe Thornton; son Anthony Joseph Thornton; 2 daughters Tracy Elwanda Fanning and Tonya Kelley Dockins; 5 granddaughters Christa Nicole Mader, Julie Michelle Barnett (TJ), Heather Renea Acosta (Manny), Andrea Mae Fanning, and Breanna Carlie Rose (Blake); grandson Brandon Joe Thornton; and her sister Patricia “Patsy” Martinez.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her 2 brothers and 3 sisters; and one grandson Bradley Carlton Brooks.
Funeral services will be on Thursday September 21st, 2023, at 2pm in Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday September 20th, 2023, from 6pm-9pm with Brother Eric Mattox officiating.
