Funeral services for Ms. Bennie Wyatt Yates, age 90, are scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Cemetery. Ms. Yates passed away on Wednesday in Bells. She was born July 13, 1931 in Chesterfield to the late William Perry Wyatt and Lela Mitchell Wyatt. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Baptist Church where she thrived on serving and loving others. She was a strong woman with a servant’s heart. Ms. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willard H. Yates; her son, Ricky Yates; one daughter, Gwendolyn Yates; three brothers, Boyd, Howard, and Johnny Wyatt; and two sisters, Dorothy McCollum and Mary Bonee. Survivors include her two daughters, Vivian Yates Stockard (David) and Pat Yates Evans (Tracy); two sisters, Katheryn Jones and Carolyn Elliott; eight grandchildren, Beth Yates Murley (Roger), Clayton Stockard (Ying), Holly Stockard Bridge (Levi), Katie Evans, Rebecca Evans O’Malley (Michael), Mitchell Evans (Lauren), Abigail Evans Schwindt (Nate), and Tiffany Davis (Brandon); and eight great grandchildren, Drew and Eric Murley, Joshua Stockard, Jarvis O’Malley, Kinsley Davis, Grayson Bridge, Posy O’Malley, and Smith Bridge. The family will receive friends on Friday, 5-7 PM and on Saturday, 10-11 AM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington.
