Obituary of Bennett Adam DarmerWith the deepest sadness, we announce that Bennett Adam Darmer (“Adam”), age 38, our most beloved son, brother, father, family member and friend, left this world unexpectedly earlier this week.

Those who knew Adam, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Adam will be missed and remembered every day by his Father, Kevin Darmer (and Stepmom, Jan Crosby), his Mother, Mary Bradley (and Stepdad, Steven Bradley), his sister, Angel Croes (and Brother-in-Law, Ivan A. Croes), his son, Mason Darmer, his loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many, many great friends.

We know Adam is now with his Heavenly Father, Papaw and MaMaw, his Ma and Pa, Uncle Denny, cousin Jason, and his sweet companions Buddy and Diablo, and that he is eternally loved here on earth as well as in heaven.

We LOVE and MISS you so much my Son.

Build Us a Son, O Lord

Build Us a Son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Build Us a Son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a Son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build Us a Son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a Son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will look to the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these things are his, add, We pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.

Then We, his Parents, will dare to whisper, “We have not lived in vain.” (General Douglas MacArthur).

The celebration of Adam’s precious life will be held at the Warrior Creek Baptist Church, 1857 County Road 1830, Arab, AL on Saturday, December 23, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the service at 2:00 p.m.

The burial will be held at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, 1351 N Brindlee Mountain Parkway, Arab, immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions to be placed in trust for Adam’s son, Mason, may be made by at: https://gofund.me/5a32db4c, or by any preferred method to Adam’s mom, Mary Bradley.
