Funeral service for Benjamin “Marty” Childers, 43, will be Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Steven Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Childers died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was born July 18, 1980, in Morgan County, to Benny Hugh Childers and Sheila Bowen Childers.
Marty attended Brewer High School and graduated from Hartselle High School and then went on to graduate from Decatur Developmental Program in 2001. He played basketball and did volunteer work helping to deliver Meals on Wheels. Marty participated in Special Olympics in swimming and equestrian – where he was a Silver and Gold Medalist. He held an Orange Belt in Karate and he loved animals.
His family wishes to express “Special Thanks” to Hospice of North Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Birlen Childers, Charles Bowen and Louise Bowen.
