Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Porter IIIBenjamin Franklin “Frank” Porter, III, 77, Florence, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church, Sheffield. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Bro. Bart Bowlin officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Frank was a member of First Methodist Church, Sheffield. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a soldier and a military defense auditor in Vietnam and Iraq. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Jean Porter; and brother, Mike Porter.

Frank is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Isom (David); niece, Tiffany Stonecipher (Heath); nephew, Clay Isom; great-niece, Madelyn Stonecipher (Sam Hatcher); great-nephew, Ben Stonecipher; and sister-in-law, Patti Porter.

Pallbearers will be Clay Isom, Heath Stonecipher, Ben Stonecipher, and Sam Hatcher. David Isom, Robert “Bob” N. Parks, Samuel Parks, Jay Stone, Stanley Roberts, Mark Porter, Randy Thompson, Ray Brooks, and the members of the American Legion, as well as Vietnam Veterans, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
