Belva Ashley Black, 68, of Grant, passed away Friday. Belva was raised in the Martling community and attended Asbury Jr. High and Albertville High School. She married Jimmy Black in 1976. They shared a wonderful life together for 44 years before he passed in 2020. Belva received the Holy Ghost in 1973 and was a faithful member of the Grassy Mtn. Holiness Church for 48 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and homemaker who loved to cook, sew, and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Ray Black and parents, Thomas David & Hazel Dean Ashley.
Surviving are son, Adrian (Jennifer) Black; granddaughter, Breanna Black; grandson, Landon Black; brothers, Jimmy (Rae Ellen) Ashley and Kenneth (Sharon) Ashley; sisters, Patricia Key and Peggy (Rickey) Hardin; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grassy Mountain Holiness Church. Services will be held at Grassy Mountain Holiness Church, Monday at 12:00 PM with Bro. Chris Clark, Bro. Jack Lynch officiating. Pallbearers will be Brad Hardin, Kyle Key, Dustin Key, Shane Murphy, Jacob Black, and Loren Bridges.
Interment will be in Panquin Cemetery.
