TUSCUMBIA-The Belle Mont Celtic Fest, featuring the music and culture of Scotland and Ireland, will be held on the grounds of historic Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Lane, Tuscumbia, on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13. Friday is Museum Day, with free admission 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. An evening concert will be presented 6:00 – 9:00 on Friday. Saturday’s all-day festival is 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Steel City Rovers from Ontario, Canada will join returning artists Ed Miller, the Piper Jones Band, and Chambless & Muse. Food vendors, kids’ activities, crafts, Celtic merchandise, and demonstrators on site. Bring blankets and chairs. Belle Mont Mansion (circa 1828) was built for Dr. Alexander Mitchell, an early settler of Scottish heritage. A significant Federal period home, it is owned by the Alabama Historical Commission.
