Belinda Gayle Bruster Angel was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Benita Gayle Sircy Bruster and Barry G. Bruster. Belinda was saved on April 29, 2024 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She had been faithfully attending the fellowship of Hogan’s Creek since 2008 and was baptized there on May 19, 2024. Belinda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She loved her family so much. “Mrs. Angel” was an amazing kindergarten teacher at Carroll Oakland for 14 years. Her love of cheerleading influenced her to coach hundreds of girls in the sport of cheerleading, even winning NCAA championships as a competitive cheerleader. Her bubbly dynamic personality was infectious to everyone in her life. Belinda was very creative, loved baking, and had a great appreciation for art, so she naturally veered toward cake decorating. Her cakes were often featured at weddings and special events. Belinda’s faith and her daily Bible readings gave her courage and strength for the health battles she faced.
Mrs. Angel is preceded in death by her grandfather Billy Jack Bruster. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Shannon Angel; their three children: Corbin Hagman, Emily Angel, and Natalie Angel; parents: Benita G. and Barry Bruster; brother: Billy Garrett Bruster and his fiancé Kyrstin Fouch; grandmother: Betty L. Thaler; and aunts: Lori Miller and Barbie Schreiber.
