Bedford “Bud” Duncan, a devoted husband and hardworking service technician, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, in his home in Lewisburg, Tennessee, surrounded by his beloved wife, Vi Duncan. Born on June 19, 1947, in Caneyville, Kentucky, Bud was a proud American citizen who dedicated a lot of his life to his craft as an HVAC technician at Franklin Heating & Cooling.
Known for his unyielding work ethic, Bud never shied away from a challenge and approached every task with a sense of determination and dedication. His love for the outdoors and passion for tinkering with mechanical, wood, and steel products defined his character, as he found joy in creating things from scratch, including his own homemade smoker.
Bud’s legacy lives on through his kindness, resilience, and undying love for his family and friends. He was a simple man who thrived in the company of loved ones, cherishing every moment spent with those closest to him. Despite the hardships he faced, Bud never complained, always choosing to focus on the positive aspects of life.
Bud is preceded in death by his father, Henry Duncan; mother, Leora Hayes Prater; his brothers and several sisters. He is survived by his wife, Vi Duncan; sons, Alvin Duncan and Billy Joe Harris; sisters, Mary Helen, Opal, and Betty Lou; grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Sheena, Lyken, Abby, Kyle, Aubrey, and Jesse; and great grandchildren, Ada and Jasper.
May his journey to the next life be filled with the peace and contentment that evaded him in his final days. Bud Duncan will forever be remembered for his unwavering spirit, generosity, and the immeasurable impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Bud.
