Becky Kearney Young, 63, passed away Sunday, August 4th, 2024. Becky was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 16, 1960, and moved to Huntsville, Alabama as a child. Becky graduated Huntsville High School and attended the University of North Alabama, where she met her husband, Bob, whom she has been married to for 38 years. Becky and Bob called Hartselle, Alabama home, where they were blessed with wonderful friendships. Becky loved her career in both the hospitality and mortgage industries, but her main joy has always been as a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother.

Anyone who knew Becky, knew that she had a resilient and positive personality. Becky battled an aggressive cancer for 23 years and never for a moment let cancer slow her down. Her unwavering faith was an example to all. Her smile and bubbly personality would light up the room, and her positivity was contagious. Joy was the legacy that she wanted to leave. She was an amazing person to all who knew her. Family was everything to Becky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Betty Moore and John Kearney; and her brother, Steve Kearney.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Young; children, Tyler Young (Heather) and Katie Fitzpatrick (Brandon); her brothers, Richard Kearney (Yvonne), Gary Kearney (Petra), and John Kearney (Tammy); grandchildren, Silas Young, Addie Young, Beau Young, and Riley Fitzpatrick; brother-in-law, Paul Young (Anette); sisters-in-law, Amy Kearney and Lee Anne Montgomery; nieces, Kelli Montgomery (Tom), Caroline Kearney, Rebecca Kearney, Carla Metanes (Monib); nephews, Carter Montgomery (Lindsey) and Michael Kearney; great nephews, Campbell, Jack, Ryan, and Drew; and great nieces, Sutton, Sophie, and Janie.

Becky will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Wednesday, August 7th, at 10:00 am, and will have a graveside service with friends and family welcome.

Pallbearers will be Bill Montgomery, Jeff Hyche, Pat Smith, Mike Dean, Paul Young, and Michael Kearney.
