Bebie was a beautician for 35 years in her hometown of Sipsey. She enjoyed giving back to her community and volunteering at Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was an active member for many decades. The love she had for her family was unmatched. She greatly enjoyed being involved in their lives, whether it be hosting gatherings and Sunday dinners, attending ball games and school functions, or teaching her Christian values and diligent work ethic. She was lovingly referred to as “Grandmother” to all her children and was well-known for her infamous chocolate pie. Sweets were her weakness, and she never turned away dessert no matter the time of day.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom Harris. Together, they owned T&R Grocery at the Mulberry Fork in Empire, AL, and built a life together that she was so proud of. Also preceding are her parents; three brothers: Edmond Wallace, Donald Wallace, and L.D. Wallace; a sister: Imogene Wallace; and many other family members.
She is survived by her three children: Elesia Cordell, Randy Harris (Becky), and Stephanie Gray (Terry); five grandchildren: Heather Stidham (Jonathan), Alison Cordell, Corey Gray (Alisha), Luke Harris (Kaytlin), and Nick Harris (Chrystina); six great- grandchildren: Rylee Mae and Oryn Gray, Gavin and Bryant Stidham, and Zack and Parker Harris. Also surviving include her sister: Willie Mae Griffin; sisters-in-law: Martha Harris and Lynn Harris; brothers-in-law: Mike Harris (Donna), Eugene NeSmith, and Ronnie Handley. She leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends as well.
Pallbearers will be Randy Harris, Corey Gray, Luke Harris, Nick Harris, Jonathan Stidham, John Wallace, and Bill Freeman.
The Harris Family would like to thank Cordova Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care that was provided over the past year as well as all the family, friends, and caregivers for every kind gesture that has been displayed.
