Beatrice Martha Jean Pigford Carmichael, 72, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Tuscumbia, AL, from 12:00 – 2:00pm, with the service immediately following.
Jean was born to Hiram and Beatrice Pigford on November 10, 1940.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents Hiram and Beatrice Pigford, and her late husband, Dr. Archie H. Carmichael, III.
Jean is survived by her sister JoAnne Pigford Beck; brothers Thomas Houston Pigford and Hiram Leland Pigford; children G. Russ Cleveland, Jr. (Cheril), A. Hill Carmichael, IV (Amanda), Beth Carmichael Riley (Kerry), and L.C. Carmichael (Belinda); grandchildren Hudson Russell Cleveland, Sarah Elizabeth Cleveland, L. C. Carmichael, Jr., Ann Cothran Carmichael and Archer H. Carmichael, V; and Bama (her dog).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Helen Keller Foundation.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her physicians and the medical staffs at both Helen Keller Hospital and ECM Hospital for exemplary service and support in her final days.
