Bayard Oneal Shelnutt, 90 of Phil Campbell, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Terrace Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Russellville, Alabama. He was born November 4, 1932 and lived in Franklin County all of his life. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He enjoyed gardening and talks and visits with family and friends.
A graveside service will be on November 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Union Hill First Congregation Methodist Church Cemetery, Phil Campbell, Alabama with Bro. Merrell Potter officiating.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Sue Stehno Shelnutt; parents, Henry and Mary Shelnutt; brothers, Homer L. Shelnutt, Tony Shelnutt, Jackie Shelnutt, William Shelnutt; sisters, Mavis Davis, Roma Stanley.
He is survived by his son, Dwight (Kim) Shelnutt; brother, Boyd Shelnutt; sister Myrtle Lou Cornfourth Barrington; grandchildren Riley (Anna) Shelnutt, Megan (Andrew) Welborn and Morgan (Stephen) Busby; great grandchildren, Maddie Drew Welborn, Teegan Welborn, Joseph Shelnutt, McKenna Busby.
