Barry Link Barnard, 75, of Florence, AL, slipped into the arms of Jesus on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024. He was born July 9, 1948 in Johnson City, TN to the late Ernest and Margaret Barnard. He was the middle of five children.
Holding his memory dear to their hearts are his loving wife, Pamela Barnard nee Smith, and children Valerie Presley (Josh), Allison Wade (Jeff) and Adam Barnard as well as his grandchildren Ashlyn, Katelin, Madison, Dawson Wade and Gideon Presley.
Barry graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He first worked for the State of Tennessee in Air Pollution Control and then for TVA until retiring to devote himself full-time to his favorite role of Grampy and
family man.
Barry was a devoted, wonderful, and loving servant leader and provider for his family all of whom cannot adequately express their deep gratitude for the love, prayers, support, and acts of kindness offered to us by our faithful family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers the Lord sent to us during this difficult time. It has been so comforting that he passed during a week when we are constantly reminded of the Way that our Savior made for all of us to be reunited. Thank you Jesus that this isn’t a “good bye” but “see you soon”! We miss you and love you Barry, with all our hearts!
