  F.12.14.23 Barbara Riner King.JPGBarbara Riner King, 84, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Friday, December 15 at 12:30 at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. A funeral service will follow at 2:00. Officiating will be Wade Hunt.

Mrs. King was born January 13, 1939, and was a lifelong resident of the Shoals area. She graduated from Colbert County High School (Class of 57) and married Larry King in 1959. The couple spent most of their life in Muscle Shoals. Mrs. King worked as a substitute teacher in the Muscle Shoals school system while raising her girls and then worked in pharmacies until retiring in 1997. She was a member of Cox Boulevard Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Larry E. King; her parents, Ernest and Dollie Riner; brother, Ralph Riner; father-in-law, Delma King and mother-in-law, Claudine B. King.

Survivors are her daughters, Genia K. McKinney (Joe); Elesia K. Crosswhite (Tandy); sisters, Betty R. Gist and Marjorie R. Marthaler; brother, Thomas P. Riner; grandchildren, Colton K. McKinney (Elizabeth), Sydney E. McKinney and Mason Crosswhite; great-granddaughter, Rachel E. McKinney

Pallbearers will be Mrs. King’s nephews
