Mrs. Barbara Moore Chappell of Bolivar departed this life
Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2012 at Pine Meadows
Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was 76 years old.
Mrs. Chappell was born in Middleton January 18, 1936 to the late
John Laughlin and Amanda Kathleen Smalley Moore. On
December 27, 1982, he was united in marriage to Jesse Ruben
Chappell who preceded her in death January 27, 1987. She worked
for Service America Corporation at Harmon servicing vending
machines and retired from Walmart, where she worked as a cashier.
She was also a farmer. She lived all her life in the Hardeman
County area and was a member at the First Baptist Church in
Bolivar.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita Ervin Kee of Oakland; a son,
Dale Edward Ervin of Toone; three sisters, Doris Gibbons of
Memphis, Jane Moore Clark of Bolivar, and Sue Jaggars of
Olive Branch, MS; three brothers, James E. Moore of Hot Springs,
AR, John Moore, Jr. of Hot Springs, AR and Glen Moore of Bolivar;
three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by
a sister, Shirley Mathis of Brookland, AR, and her first husband
Jimmy Ervin, who died in June of 1996.
