Sister Barbara McAllister, age 94, of the Hytop community passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born to Buford and Sue Jane Allen, she was the wife of the late Rev. Henry “Odie” McAllister, and the daughter-in-law of the late Carl and Edith McAllister. Sister Barbara received the Holyghost on September 19, 1954.
She was the mother of Shirley Anderson, Pat (Mac) McLain, Henry (Aida) McAllister, Roger McAllister, and Susan (Butch) Clark; Grandmother to Brian McLain, Colin McAllister, Roger McAllister II, Adam McLain, Ray McAllister, Tanya McAllister, Craig McLain, Tom (Katie) McAllister, Dina (Josh) Stephens, Steven Clark; Great Grandmother to Krystiana McAllister, Morgyn McAllister, Anthony Concepion, Rylan McAllister, Aiden Clark, Raycene McAllister, Conor McAllister, Logan McAllister, Brady Clark, Abigael McAllister; Great Great Grandmother to Alaina McAllister and Dylan McAllister; Sister to Sylvia (Charles) Cornelison; Sister-in-law to Deloris Allen, Ruby McAllister, Judy Brewer, Annie Ruth Brewer, Nina McAllister, and Thelma McAllister.
Sister Barbara was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Joan McAllister, son-in-law Bob Anderson, siblings James Paul Allen, Phillip (Janice) Allen, Mary Jane (Bill) Heaton, Henry Allen, in-laws Katie (Ernie) Ramsey, Curtis (Mildred) McAllister, Rev. Auther (Joy) McAllister, Alvin Brewer, Mary Ellen (Bob) Barricks, Jewel McAllister, Jiggs Brewer, and Raymond McAllister.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Enhabit Hospice and Nurse Amber Thompson for the care they provided for their loved one.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel and on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Groves Holiness Church. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Groves Holiness Church with Bro. James “Totchie” McLain, Bro. Shirley Byrum, and Bro. Ray Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Groves Cemetery.
