Barbara Lucille Richardson, age 79, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at Valdosta Church of Christ with Ed White and Gary Puryear officiating.
Her body will be placed in the church sanctuary at 10 a.m. to lie in state. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Barbara was a native of Putnam, Texas, but had lived in the Shoals area for the past 52 years. She was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ where she taught kindergarten for several years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Hyde; brother, Leslie Duzan; and sisters, Sheila Evans and Lavada Scott.
Survivors include her husband, James Richardson; son, Daryl Richardson and wife, Lydia, of Killen; daughters, Judy Cosby and husband, Bill, of Tuscumbia; Sara Kirk and husband, Mark, of Florence; son-in-law, Rick Hyde; brothers, Wayne Duzan and wife, Velda, of Odessa, Texas; Robert Duzan of Palestine, Texas; Richard Duzan and wife, Andrea, of Newark, Del.; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
