We mourn with hope at the passing of our beloved, Barbara Louise Lambert Gandy, who passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025 at the age of 81 after a long battle with MSA Parkinson’s. Barbara, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, spent most of her life living in Ashville, where she raised her family and worked at Ashville Middle School until her retirement in 2021. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and Gigi and loved her family immensely and sacrificially. She loved her work family at AMS and all of the children she had the privilege to serve at the school and at her church, Ashville United Methodist. She also loved her time spent with her bingo family at the American Legion. Her faith in Jesus was the source of her love, and she embraced life’s challenges with a servant’s heart- always putting others needs first. Barbara enjoyed music and dancing, the beach, the Alabama Crimson Tide, bargain shopping, spoiling her grandsons, and spending any time she could with her daughters and siblings. We will all miss her beautiful smile and sweet spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bob & Margaret Lambert, daughter Monica Gandy, sister Marlene Studdard, and brothers Bobby and Kerry Lambert. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Wilson and Son-in-love Daniel Wilson, and her three favorite grandsons – Bryce, Connor, and Myles Wilson. She is also survived by her sister Darlene Lambert and brother Ricky Lambert, who were her best friends, and nephew Brandon Cornelius.
A receiving of friends and family will be held on Sunday, April 6th from 2-3 PM followed by a celebration of life at 3PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden, Alabama.
