Mrs. Barbara Jean Byars, 83, of Mount Hope, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at North Alabama Medical Center Florence, AL.
Born on June 15, 1939 in Lawrence county, Alabama to Pride and Lola. She married the love of her life, L J Byars on December 28, 1957.
Her 52 year career included 12 years with Joe Wheeler EMC and 40 years in the banking business.
Most important in her life was her son, Jeff Byars and grandson, Lew Byars and the Okolona Baptist Church Sunday school class and service.
Barbara is described as funny, sometimes a worrier, mentor, loyal, private, and a trusted confidant. She loved sports cars and motorcycles.
Her lifelong friends, Barbara Martin and Jill Burks, were known as “The Golden Girls.” They had the most amazing friendship. If you were with these three, there was always laughter and a lot of conversation. They were known to always be on the go.
Preceded in death by her husband- L J Byars, Father- Pride Saint, Mother- Lola Saint.
Survived by her son Jeff Byars (Alisa) and grandson Lew Byars (Courteney) and brother Avis Saint (Pat) and three nephews.
Pallbearers- Coy Saint, Brian Saint, Mike Legg, Tony Burks, Jim Martin, and Milton Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers are the Okolona Baptist Church Sunday School Class.
Please join in celebrating her life on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and the funeral service will be at 3:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home, 12950- AL -157, Moulton, AL with Brother Terry Settles officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens in Moulton, AL. Following the burial
a funeral reception will be at the Okolona Baptist Church, 6628 County Road 236, Town Creek, AL.
