Barbara Ezzell Pendleton Profile Photo Barbara Ezzell Pendleton, age 80, of Harvest, Alabama passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at her home.

Barbara was born on September 29, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee to Lee W. Ezzell and Helen Leah Ezzell.

She is preceded in passing by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard F. Pendleton; son Brian R. Pendleton (Amber); daughter Sarah K. Barnett; grandsons Nicholas Pendleton and Jacob Barnett; granddaughters Stephanie Barnett and Delaney Emmons; and a host of close friends who loved her dearly.

Barbara was raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She loved living in Winston-Salem, and always considered it her home. She had an immense passion for caring for others, as she graduated from City Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse by age 19.  Furthermore, she volunteered for the Army Nurse Corps for the purpose of serving in Vietnam. She truly possessed a gift which, in her early career, elected her to serve on a team in a special wing of the hospital to care for President Eisenhower should an emergency arise.

She met the love of her life, Richard F. Pendleton, in Ft. Gordon, Georgia in 1967. She enjoyed traveling the world with him as an Army wife. Her most favorite place of all was Germany where she spent a total of 11 years with him. In 1982, she relocated to Huntsville, Alabama and continued her nursing career up until her retirement in 1996.

She was a member of the Episcopal Women’s Chapel organization as well as St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Madison.

Barbara truly had a servant’s heart from a very young age and served people across the world throughout her entire life leaving behind a remarkable legacy to those who love and cherish her. She will always be loved and missed dearly.
