Barbara Evelyn (Wilhoit) Stluka

BARBARA STLUKA, 93 Mrs. Stluka passed away January 23, 2021 at the South Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. Barbara W. Stluka was born June 1, 1928 in Kenton Ohio the daughter of Ralph and Helen E. Withoit She was united in marriage to Edward F. Stluka on September 10, 1953 in Winchester Tennessee. They were married for 42 blissful years. She was preceded in death by her husband (September 9, 1995), and her brother, William Williams Conroe TX.

A consummate mother, homemaker and bridge player, Barbara was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and entertaining friends.

Funeral services are private, by Valhalla Chapel. Barbara had an unwavering faith in God. Mrs. Stluka was a member of the Queen of the Universe Catholic Church of Huntsville. Over the years, she had become very involved with the church and assisted with numerous school functions and fundraising events.

She is survived by her children: Mary Traweek, Huntsville, AL, Cindy Goodrum, Ardmore, TN; son-in-laws Larry Traweek and Stanley Goodrum; 2 loving grandchildren Michael Thomas Brownsboro AL and Neil Traweek Huntsville, AL and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sara (Wilhoit) Swafford and brother-in-law Clinton Swafford Winchester TN; (step) sister-in-law, Jeanette Gallagher Huntsville AL; 8 nieces, nephews; and grand nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fayetteville, TN.

The family gives the many caregivers for Barbara their greatest gratitude.
