Barbara Dell Vaughan Barbara Dell Vaughan was born on December 10, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy Hopkins of Bolivar.

She was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School. Her first job was at Bryant’s Shoe Store in Bolivar, and, after that, she worked at Merchants and Planters Bank in Toone for 20 years. She then worked for USDA Rural Development in Jackson until she retired in 2011.

Barbara was a long-time devoted member of Silerton Baptist Church, where she actively served for nearly 30 years. Barbara loved to prepare meals for her family, as well as her church family, where she was known to bring a big spread to every meal. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, never missing an event or a ball game. Barbara will be remembered for her generosity as she was always giving to others, sometimes doing without herself. This was her ministry to others. Her favorite singer was Elvis Presley. Rumor even has it that Elvis sang for her on her 71st Birthday Party

Barbara Dell Vaughan departed this life on February 7, 2023, at the age of 73, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar, Tennessee.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Vaughan and wife, Michelle, of Toone and Steven Vaughan and wife, Liz, of Middleton, her two daughters-in-law, she loved as her own; two grandsons, Dylan Wayne Vaughan and Chase Ashton Vaughan, who were her world; a sister; Martha Sue Howell of Pocahontas; two brothers, Emmett Leon Hopkins and wife, Ahn, of Tampa, FL, and Terry Clyde Hopkins, Sr., and wife, Cathy, of Bolivar, along with seven nephews; one niece, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Helen Hopkins and her father, Kenneth Leon Hopkins.
