Barbara D. White, age 83, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 10, 2023 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 25th with Pastor Charlene Sullivan officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00PM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Mrs. White was born on August 6, 1939, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Garland & Margaret Wilson Dillard and worked as an underwriter for the American Mutual Fire Insurance Co. before moving to Tennessee. She was active in the FCE Club of Cedar Hill for 39 years where she served as former president and chairman of the board. She also started the Angel Tree program for the Cedar Hill FCE in 1996. Mrs. White was known to everyone as Granny Barbara and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working on the farm. She dearly loved her family, and community and education were very important to her. She admirably beat cancer 4 times.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert Beasley; and brothers, Robert Dillard and Richard Dillard.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 47 years, James E. White of Clarksville; children, Greg White (Leslie) of Terre Haute, IN, Doug White of Madison, TN; Traci Buck of Murfreesboro, TN, William Beasley of Brandon, MS, and Mark Beasley of Charleston, SC; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
