barbara--bobbie--briggs-obituaryBarbara “Bobbie” Jean Briggs, age 67, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA. Barbara was born in Columbia, TN December 20, 1946 to the late Elmer Davis Ring and the late Kathleen Mai.

Some people just have a heart for others. Bobbie was one of those people, always thinking of others. Ever since she married her loving husband Wendell 47 years ago she has been following him wherever he led and bringing with them her loving heart. As Wendell worked in the printing business it meant that he and Bobbie were moved around often. They moved from Franklin, TN all the way to New York until finally stopping in Jasper, GA. Bobbie worked at various places over the years, early in her career working at Hancock fabrics in Columbia, TN and Unique Sports in Alperetta, GA. But by far her greatest calling and achievement was raising 110 foster children over 15 years with her husband. Bobbie could be very stubborn but really she was just an overall good person. She is loved and will be dearly missed by those that knew her.

A Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, TN. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN.
