Barbara Black Martindale, 74 of Athens, passed away on Sunday March 14th, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Martindale was born on May 5th, 1946 to James Robert Hardy and Sarah Christine Sims Hardy.
Mrs. Martindale is survived by her husband of twenty-four years Larry B. Martindale; sons Troy H. Black (Jan) of Orlando, FL, Daryl W. Black (Bonny) of Athens, AL, Andy D. Black of Elkmont, AL, Robert J. Martindale (Mary) of Russellville, AL, Terry R. Martindale of Adairsville, GA; grandchildren Taylor Fowler (Jordan), Darby Johnson (Matt), Bailey Black (Hailie), Lacey Beth Black, Maggie Black, Meredith Black, Peyton Black, Aaron Martindale, Austin Martindale, Jordan C. Martindale, Brianna S. Martindale; great-grandson Michael Fowler; and sisters Pat Smith, and Jamie Hampton (Randy).
Preceded in death by her parents; first husband Carlos Poochy Black, and stepson Rick Martindale.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Martindale will be Tuesday March 16th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens, with Garry Walker and Larry Back officiating. Pallbearers are Troy, Jimmy, Daryl, Andy, Bailey, Peyton and Matt Johnson, Jordan. Honorary pallbearer is Paris.
Mrs. Martindale was a member of Hobbs St. Church of Christ most of her life. She loved her dog Paris and her entire family. She co-owned the company Brides, Bells and Bows.
