Barbara “BJ” Jacquelyn Backer – Obituary

Barbara “BJ” Jacquelyn Backer, 83, a native of Houston, Texas, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday evening, October 13, 2013. She lived her life to the fullest as a resident of Mandeville, La., Decatur, and Houma, La.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill Backer Seibert of Houma, La.; one son, Brett Backer of Hudson, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Amanda Seibert, Branden Seibert, Carleigh Seibert, Olivia Backer and Ryan Backer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Clytie Palmer of Kaufman, Texas; and her sister, Jere Smith Cook of Tulsa, Okla.

She was retired from her business, “Fabrics and Then Some”, as an interior designer of 40 years.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2013, at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Barbara was dedicated to her church, God and Jesus Christ.

She will “walk in the garden” with them forever. Barbara loved her family and friends.
