Mrs. Barbara Benson Elliott Payne, age 84, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Mrs. Payne was born on August 25, 1939 to the late Charles Ray Benson and Virginia Roden Benson.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Elliott Reese (Terry), Michelle Elliott Hall (Chris); grandchildren, Christopher Reese (Rachel), Elizabeth Williams Burgess (Anthony), Erica Williams Cox (Blake), Eliot Williams; granddaughter-in-law, Hope Reese Charles; great grandchildren, Austin Reese, Gavin Reese, Erah Kate Reese, Callen Reese, Tyden Reese, Adalyn Jade Cox, Allie Grace Burgess and Maci Elizabeth Burgess; sister, Gina Benson Cochran (Jimmy); nieces, Jordan Hodges (Hunter), Sydney Hyde (Jared); great nephews, Harrison Hodges and Drake Hyde. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Payne; grandson, Justin Reese; sister, Martee Benson Monger.
A visitation for Mrs. Payne will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Mrs. Payne will be laid to rest in Memory Hill Cemetery with Bro. Earl Mitchell officiating. Assisting Mrs. Payne to her final resting place will include; Chris Reese, Austin Reese, Gavin Reese, Eliot Williams, Anthony Burgess and Blake Cox.
