Heaven welcomed another angel on March 18th, 2025, when Barbara, 77, of Lawrenceburg, TN, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by family at Life Care Center of Ooltewah, TN.
Barbara was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on May 8, 1947 to Jeff and Dean Wright. From a young age, Barbara showed incredible compassion, which she demonstrated through her love of family and her joy for teaching. She attended college at MTSU, graduating in 1969, and shortly afterwards began her career in the Lawrence County School System. Barbara was a dedicated educator, investing 39 years into teaching, the majority of which she spent at Lawrenceburg Public School. There she was able to touch the lives of so many children and develop lifelong friendships. After retirement, she always looked forward to her monthly luncheon with the other retired teachers.
Barbara was also a member of the West Point United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served the church in countless ways. She had rededicated her life to Christ in 2023.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and Nana. She leaves behind Don, her husband of 45 years, sons Terry (Amy) and Will (Courtney), as well as two of her greatest joys in life, grandchildren Max and Zoe Misenhimer. Barbara always maintained a zeal for life and treasured moments with her family, travelling frequently to the beach and the Smoky Mountains, and cheering on her grandkids from the sidelines at soccer and baseball games.
She was a beloved aunt to Heather Wright Haynes, nephew Jeff Wright, and many others on the Misenhimer side of the family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Jeff Wright, mother Dean Trammell Wright, and brother Richard Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Lawrenceburg Public School in her name.
