Obituary of Barbara Ann WardBarbara Ann Ward, 81 of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on December 5, 2023. Visitation will be on Friday, December 8 from 11 AM- 1PM at Roselawn Funeral Home with Celebration of Life service to follow at 1 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Myron Mooney officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Barbara Ann Ward is survived by her husband William E. Ward, daughters Delora Whitlow ( Kell ), Debora Elam (Jon), grandchildren Lashae Smith (Joey), Victoria Louallen (Ryan), Sabian Whitlow, great grandchildren Artorias Louallen, brother Harlan Harp and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Josephine (Sowell) Harp, sisters Catherine Day, Dorothy Lewis, brothers Charles Harp, Garland Harp, grandparents Chesley and Molly Sowell and Thomas and Pokey Harp.

On December 8th she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage to William E. Ward. She was a Southern Baptist and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved to travel and garden. She was an avid animal lover she also enjoyed the arts and crafts. Barbara Ann also enjoyed fishing and coloring. The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Kathy Helton, Hollie Osborn, Hospice of The Valley and Tina Chisolm, and to everyone that provided additional love, care and meals.

Those that will be serving as pallbearers will be Kell Whitlow, Sabian Whitlow, Ryan Louallen, Joey Smith, Ray Sparks, Wiley Faust.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
