Barbara Ann Cartwright, age 76, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham after a sudden illness. She was born February 4, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee to Calvin Leon Lamb and Virginia Ruth White. A longtime resident of Lee County, Barbara was a graduate Tupelo High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for Lane Industries until her retirement. She then worked for Sprint Mart where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her friends and coworkers. Barbara was a member of Priceville Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She loved her dog, Little Bit who was a constant companion.
Barbara leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Harrison Cartwright; her children, Dawn, John, and David; grandchildren, Matthew, Madalen, McKenna, Alec, Ethan, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Addison Grace, Casen, and Ryker; and her brother, Calvin Earl Lamb.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January, 14, 2024 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Andy Dozier officiating. Burial will follow in Priceville Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Sunday at Pegues, Tupelo
