Barbara Ann Bennett, age 81, entered eternal rest peacefully on May 30, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on August 22, 1940, in Marion County, West Virginia, to Clarence and Bonnie Bennett. She graduated from Farmington High School, completed her undergraduate degree at Fairmont State University and received her Master’s Degree from West Virginia University. Barbara retired after a successful career as a high school teacher of biology and physiology at West Fairmont High School. She moved to Franklin, Tennessee, in 2009.
Barbara is survived by her brother Clarence Bennett (Mary), nieces Susan Bennett and Julie Fette (Chris) and great nephew/nieces (Reece Bennett, Eva Fette and Cara Bennett) as well as numerous extended family members and good friends.
Barbara was an active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and additionally served in various capacities within her homeowner’s association. She was an avid sports fan, voracious reader and enjoyed dining out with friends and family.
She will be buried in her home state of West Virginia, as she was a resident there for most of her life. Barbara was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church and community. A memorial service will be held in Franklin, TN, at a later date.
