Back In Jail For Sex Abuse Charges

chadTUSCUMBIA– Chadmon  “Chad” Drew Wright, 41, of 1212 Frankfort Road, Tuscumbia indicted in August on 12 counts of sodomy and sexual abuse charges involving five boy is back in jail. He was charged in August with the sex abuse charges.  He is now back in jail without bond.  He once was a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where allegedly one of the boys was abused.

Wrights bond was revoked on Monday by Colbert County Judge Jackie Hatcher after a hearing to have his bond revoked. Tuscumbia police  said Wright’s bond was revoked after one of the boys filed a harassment complaint against Wright with the Florence police.  The boy said that Wright tried to have him drop the charges.  The boy went to the authorities in Florence with this information.

Wright was arrested in August after the indictments were issued and later released from jail on bail in the amount of $375,000.  He is charged with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12, three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count each of enticing a child for immoral purposes and first-degree sodomy.    Tuscumbia police said the allegations involve boys ages 8-15, and the reported abuse began in August 2012.

Wright is being held in The Colbert County Jail without bond.
