B. H. Newell, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio after 30 years of service, and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Newell served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Israel Elijah “Doc” and Sarah Ann Stegall Newell; his first wife, Faye Dean Newell; two brothers, Kilby Newell and Bradford Newell; and three sisters, Myrtle Filcher, Beatrice Clausen, and Thelma Bailey.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017, with Mickey Brackin and Chad Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Mars Hill Baptist Church.
