Mrs. Avis Hill Thomas, age 94, of the Union Hill Community in Morgan County, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Thomas was born on March 7, 1925 to Ellis Hill & Bama Gilley Hill. She was married to the late Roy M. Thomas who passed on February 23, 1996. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed crafting, gardening and tending to her flowers.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her sons, Terry W. Thomas (Billie), Stanley W. Thomas (Nancy); daughter, Bonnie J. Thomas; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Medley; brother, Ralph Hill; sisters, Vivian Yancey, Avies King, Joyce G. Guthrie, Vera King; 3 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Union Grove Cemetery, Bro. Eldridge Criscoe will be officiating. The family will receive friends at Brindlee Mtn Chapel Funeral Home prior to the service on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
