HUNTSVILLE-Air travel expert Bill Swelbar will address the community at a public meeting Tuesday, September 15 and will provide an update on the US aviation industry, airline capacity trends as well as discuss how each are applicable to Huntsville International Airport (HSV). The public meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce auditorium.
“Huntsville is a unique, and often a misunderstood, market when it comes to the quality of air service it receives,” said Swelbar. ”There are many air service headwinds at play in
the industry today. Huntsville is navigating them and performing at least as well as its peer airports. I hope that many attend the public forum as air service is complicated and often misinterpreted.”
In addition to presenting, Swelbar will be available to answer questions from the community. He co-authored “Evolving Trends of the U.S. Domestic Airfares: The Impacts of Competition, Consolidation, and Low-cost carriers” along with Michael Wittman and thus can address a variety of aviation industry topics and inquiries during this forum. This will be his third time to visit Huntsville.
“We encourage our community to attend this public forum and engage in an open conversation about how Huntsville fits into the national landscape of air service,” said Rick Tucker, executive director for HSV.
