“Elizabeth” Smith, age 79, of Springfield, TN, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mercy Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Funeral services will be at 12 pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 and 10am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Springfield, TN on October 8, 1941 to the late John Henry and Tiny Frey Biggs. She loved her family very much and enjoyed flowers.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Smith preceded in death by brothers, J.B. Biggs, Charles Biggs and sister, Shirley Grant
She is survived by sons, Joseph “Lonnie” (Judy) Smith, Jr. of Adams, TN and James Ray Smith of Springfield, TN; brother, Billy Joe Biggs of Pleasant View, TN; sister, Tinnie Mendenhall of Cedar Hill; and grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Wilson, Amber Noel Smith and Jalynn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
