Avery K. Coats, 84, passed away on Dec. 5, 2017, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Russellville. Mrs. Coats was a homemaker and worked at Blue Bell in Red Bay.
Visitation for Mrs. Coats will be today at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from noon until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Elliott Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Mrs. Coats is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Sammy) Stults, and her grandchildren, Leanne (David) Martin, Ponda (Elliott) Gordon, and Carter Stults. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Colton Martin, Ty and Destin Martin, Katelynn and Charlie Gordon, Will, Catlin and Maddie Stults, and three great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Othar Coats; parents, Lowe and Rosey Lewey Kuykendall; brother, Persie Kuykendall; and sister, Alice Skidmore.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Terrace Manor for their wonderful love and care, to Kevin G. Kelly, and to Kindred Hospice especially Rachel and Jaime.
