Austin Wayne Davenport, Tuscumbia, Alabama was born September 1, 1931 and stepped into eternity March 7, 2024 at the age of 92.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Davenport and his parents, Andrew and Beulah Davenport, and son-in-law, Sammy Mann.
He was a faithful member of the Highland Park Church of Christ. He retired from TVA and the United States Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He loved anything that included spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Davenport (Laura), Larry Davenport (JJ), and Cayron Mann. Grandchildren: Nelly Davenport, Ellen Thorn (Cameron), Emma Griffin (Zeke), Cameron Mann, and bonus grandchildren Slade and Scout.
Great grandchildren: Beckett Austin Thorn and Cora Rose Griffin.
Services will be at Colbert Memorial Chapel on March 9, 2024. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a funeral at 12:00 p.m. Mike Brooks will be officiating. Interment will be on March 12, 2024 at 12:30 at the Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama with full military honors.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to the staff of Compassus Hospice and Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation, specifically the amazing care he received from the nurses and CNAs of TCU.
