Austin grew up in Decatur and loved spending time with friends and family. He was an avid outdoorsman who had special passions for cooking, animals and photography. Austin moved to the Nashville area in 2021 and spent the last three years happily building a life with his bride and her son.
Austin had a calm and gentle nature that was endearing to others. Though his time with us was far too short, Austin leaves a legacy of kindness and love that will continue to inspire.
Austin is survived by his wife Sloan Martin, stepson Cyrus Hurt, parents Danny Rodgers and Mary Rodgers, grandmothers Betty Rodgers and Jo Orton, uncle Jeremy Rodgers, aunt Amy (Bill) Bentz, aunt Amy (Tracy) Tubbs, cousins William and Abby Tubbs, and brother-in-law Christopher Martin.
He was preceded in death by brother Daniel Rodgers, grandfathers Gary Rodgers and Bob Orton, and aunt Melea Rodgers.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 3pm in Roselawn Cemetery, Decatur.
