Austin Leon Roden, Sr., age 59, of Sheffield passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, November 5th from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Shane Swinney officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Leon was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Roden; mother, Ruby Fountain Martin; brother, Roy Roden; and sisters, Frances Krieger and Ruby Gail Roden.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Natasha Murray and husband, Brad; sons, Austin Leon Roden, Jr. and girlfriend, Autumn Kinard, Tyler, Austin, and Steven Roden; sister, Connie Hood; grandchildren, Lily Campbell, Contessa Roden, Sophia and Joseph Murray.
Leon was the “Dude on the Bike” who loved the Sheffield Pool Hall and all of his friends.
The family expresses special thanks to the Sheffield Police Department and to the staff of Fransiscan Hospice of Rensselaer, IN.
Pallbearers include Brad Murray, Mike Smelley, Danny Mitchell, Ferris McCluskey, Will Goodwin, Glen Enlow, Randy Box, and Joe Holt.
