Aubrey Odell “Bo” Paradise

Aubrey Odell “Bo” Paradise passed away at the age of 91 in Decatur, Alabama. Born to Sallie and Jonce Augusta Paradise in Scottsboro, Bo was the youngest of nine children. He completed his early education at Scottsboro High School.

Following high school, Bo honorably served in the Army during the Korean War. This period of service instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment. He then pursued higher education, attending Sneed University before transferring to Auburn University. It was at Westing house in Pennsylvania where he met his beloved wife of 65 years, Marian Shuster Paradise. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love, challenges, and triumphs.

They lived in Athens, GA for 10 years and were blessed with Linda and Micheal. They later settled in Scottsboro, AL and were blessed again with Patricia Ann. Bo was a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser.

Bo’s involvement in the community was profound and multifaceted. He was a longstanding member of the local Lions Club, reflecting his commitment to service and betterment. His devout Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, actively participating in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he initiated the confirmation mentorship program and served in many offices. He played a role in establishing Christ Our Redeemer Church in Hartselle, Alabama.

Bo was a pillar of strength and love within his family. He was an ardent Auburn football fan, known for his charismatic, stubborn, and intelligent nature.

Aubrey leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love and guidance. He is survived by his wife, Marian Shuster Paradise; his children, Linda Marie Paradise, Michael Wayne Paradise and his wife Jean Travers Paradise, and Patricia Ann Paradise Pace; his cherished grandchildren, Katie Payton Green and her husband Ted, Nadia Paradise, Elizabeth Buzbee, and Alex Paradise; and his adored great-grandchildren, Chance, Brylee, and Teddy. He is preceded by his daughter June Paradise, brothers: David, Henry, Wallace, Grady, Stanley Paradise, and sisters: Willie Mae Hammonds, Mary Ruth Combs, and Sadie Harper.

His spirit and the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends. Aubrey Odell Paradise’s life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

The family wants to acknowledge and thank St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hospice of North Alabama, and The VA for their care and assistance.
